Types of Screen Enclosures
Phifer 18/14 Screen
The 18/14 screen by the American company Phifer is one of the most common screens used in the country. The numbers 18/14 describe the density of the fiberglass mesh, meaning that each square inch of the mesh is 18 rectangles tall. The mesh is quite dense but still allows you to see through it and has a lifespan of approximately 8 years.
No See um screen
a no see um screen is a 20/20 fiberglass screen used to keep out small insects like no see ums, flies, gnats, and mosquitoes. the screen has a very dense mesh so that the rectangles in the mesh are tiny and prevent any insects from crossing through. the no see um screen has a lifespan of approximately 8 years.
solar screen
a solar screen is another type of fiberglass screen specially designed to block up to 75% of the sun's rays. this is a great option for people living in sunny florida as it can get extremely hot in the summer. a solar screen can help you reduce your energy costs and keep your furniture and other belongings safe from the harsh sun. a good solar screen has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.
florida glass screen
florida glass screen is like 18/14 fiberglass, but it comes with added benefits. the dense mesh has an additional plastic laminate attached to it. the laminate comes in a smoky haze so that you cannot see in or out through the screen. this is very helpful for privacy and would be a good choice for someone who wants a pool enclosure and doesn't want the neighbors to be able to see them. the laminate also ensures that dirt, leaves, grass clippings, and other debris do not come through the screen.
frame colors
choose from white or bronze
all of our screen enclosures come in two neutral frame color finishes to coordinate with your home. choose from white or bronze. bronze is the most popular choice as it tends to hide mildew buildup caused by humidity.
